book review

Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins

Goodreads Synopsis: Lola Nolan is a budding costume designer, and for her, the more outrageous, sparkly, and fun the outfit, the better. And everything is pretty perfect in her life (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood. When Cricket, a gifted inventor, steps out from his twin sister’s shadow and back into Lola’s life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.

I read this the day it came out, and just like Anna and the French Kiss, I read this in one sitting.

Lola seemed immature to me and was only dating Max because he was the complete opposite of Cricket. She got on my nerves so much at the beginning. There were times I really had to push my way through until Cricket made an appearance again.

The first half was mediocre, the second half? Adorable. The end scene? SO FREAKING CUTE! I didn’t get the same warm fuzzy feeling I did with Anna, which was a bit disappointing, but I still enjoyed this book.

Oh! Anna and St. Clair had an appearance, which was adorable. Those two… ❤
