ATTENTION: SPOILERS AHEAD

Light is under heavy surveillance. If he stops writing names in the Death Note, the lack of murders will seem suspicious, so he puts a mini television in a bag of chips and writes the names of criminals down while he studies. After the cameras are removed, L still suspects Light.

Light starts University, where he meets L. L immediately reveals himself and that he suspects Light of being Kira and forces Light to ally with him to show that he is innocent. Of course, Light doesn’t kill L because he doesn’t know his real name and that would make him the prime suspect if L suddenly died after meeting Light.

Sakura TV receives a package in the mail with four tapes to air on TV, it ends up being from a Kira copycat, but no one knows that. Someone else in Japan has a Death Note and has Shinigami eyes, allowing them to see anyone’s real name and lifespan so they can kill anyone.

Despite his ill state, Light’s dad Soichiro leaves the hospital and crashes an armored car into the TV’s building, stops the broadcast, and confiscates the tapes. After finding out about the second Kira, L asks Light to join the search to find and stop the second Kira…

The scenes between Light and L are very entertaining. I forgot how much I hated the fact that the second Kira is a stupid girl just wanting to impress Kira. Despite the way females are portrayed, I’m still enjoying this series.
