A Faerie’s Revenge by Rachel Morgan

Goodreads: Still reeling from a shocking revelation, guardian trainee Calla Larkenwood finds the threads of her world unraveling further when she’s accused of a horrifying crime she didn’t commit: A deadly magical disease has entered the Guild, threatening to wipe out every guardian—and someone is intent on framing Calla for it. With the Guild Council focusing their investigation on her instead of searching for the real criminal, Calla watches her dream of becoming a guardian rapidly slipping away. Time is running out, and as the lines between good and bad, right and wrong, begin to blur, whom can she turn to for help?

First off, if you’re interested in this series, make sure to read them in publishing order!

The first three books follow Violet/Vi (the first book is free wherever you can purchase ebooks). Books 4-6 follow Calla, Ryn’s little sister, who you meet in the first book, ten years after the events of The Faerie War. There are supposed to be nine books in the series, Rachel Morgan hasn’t said who books 7-9 will follow, but I have a feeling who it might be.

Okay, so A Faerie’s Revenge. What an excellent sequel! Rachel Morgan is a great author. She makes sure to leave readers sitting on the edge of their seats. Every book in this series is action packed and full of unexpected twists. At the end of Faerie’s Secret, a massive secret about Chase was revealed that left my jaw on the ground.

To me, Calla wasn’t as immature as she was in the previous book. She struggles with her feelings for Chase. She really grows in this book and becomes just as loveable as Violet and Ryn were in the previous books. I really like her friends from the Guild. They’re so funny and treat her well. I get bad vibes from Olive, Calla’s horrible mentor. I really can’t talk about any of the other characters without spoiling things.

I had no idea where this book was going, then once it happened I started freaking out.

The imagery and details are vivid, I wish this world was real and that I could see it firsthand. I’m in love with the world and the characters Rachel Morgan has created. I need book six now!
