The Trouble with Flirting by Rachel Morgan

Goodreads: Labelled a nerd for most of high school, Livi sees her first year of university as a chance to redefine herself. She can finally enter the popular crowd and maybe even land herself a super hot boyfriend. But Livi’s about to discover that the price of popularity may be more than she’s willing to pay, and that what — and who — she wants most has always been right in front of her.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a clean, fun, and romantic coming of age story about a girl named Livi who recreates herself from orchestra geek to popular fashionista when she starts university. Livi learns some important life lessons and experienced a couple of things that really put her to the test.

Although Livi tried to please her new friends every opportunity she ran into, I was really happy to see she didn’t succumb to the peer pressure of drugs. I also really appreciated the way she handled a situation that happened because of her dad.

I thought the ending was a bit abrupt, but I feel satisfied. 🙂

I loved all the pop culture and nerdy show/movie mentions. When I saw that Stargate was mentioned I got really happy!
